Our Story

Three Generations of Bakers. One Passion for Bringing People Together.

A whole homemade sweet potato pie fresh from Linda's oven

Long before there was a sweet potato pie, there was a family tradition. Born in 1950 and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Linda grew up surrounded by strong women who believed that every celebration deserved something homemade. Her mother was known for her incredible cakes. Her grandmother was known for hers too.

Family gatherings, holidays, birthdays, church functions, and Sunday dinners often ended with something sweet coming from their kitchens. Baking wasn't just about dessert. It was about bringing people together, creating memories, and showing love through food. Those lessons stayed with Linda throughout her life.

While she inherited her family's passion for baking, Linda eventually discovered a love all her own: sweet potato pie. Over the years, she began developing and perfecting her own recipe, determined to create a pie that was rich, smooth, perfectly balanced, and unforgettable from the very first bite.

What started as a dessert for family and friends quickly became something people requested again and again. One pie became ten. Ten became hundreds. And before long, Linda found herself baking for entire communities.

After moving from Chicago to Georgia, she continued doing what she had always done: baking from scratch, using quality ingredients, patience, and the belief that every pie should be made as if it were going to her own family table.

Today, Linda has personally handcrafted more than 1,500 sweet potato pies and cheesecakes, each one made by hand with the same dedication, care, and pride that she learned growing up. There are no shortcuts in her kitchen. Every pie is mixed, prepared, baked, and finished with attention to detail that can only come from decades of experience.

My Perfect Pie is more than a business. It's the continuation of a legacy that began generations ago in family kitchens, where baking was an expression of love and hospitality. Linda may have created her own sweet potato pie recipe, but the values behind it were shaped by the remarkable women who came before her.

Today, she's proud to share that tradition with people far beyond family and friends, bringing a little piece of Chicago heritage, Southern hospitality, and homemade goodness to tables across Georgia and beyond.

Because great recipes feed people. But great traditions bring families together.
